Profit, return and chance are calculated after the Steam market fee (about 13% of the sale price). Prices are averages and move every day, so check the price and float of each skin before you buy. Buy links to marketplaces other than Steam are affiliate links: if you buy through them I may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.

How the calculator works

Every day the calculator pulls fresh prices for all CS2 skins and runs them through my trade up algorithm. For each combination of input skins and floats it works out which skins can come out, how likely each one is, and what wear it will have. Only profitable trade ups after Steam fees stay in the list above.

Trade ups with the same best outcome are grouped, so the list doesn’t show a similar trade up multiple times with slightly different inputs. When you click on a trade up you can check out other variants as well, or you can untick “Group similar trade-ups” to see them all.

What the numbers mean

Cost is what the input skins cost together: 10 skins for a normal trade up, 5 Coverts for a knife or gloves trade-up.

Avg profit is the profit you make on average each time you do a trade up, with the Steam market fee included.

Return is the average value you get back as a percentage of the cost. Anything above 100% makes a profit if you do the trade up often enough to eliminate the luck factor.

Profit chance is the chance that the skin you get is a profit outcome. A 100% trade-up is a no-risk trade-up: every possible outcome is profitable.

Before you do a trade-up

Check the float of every skin you buy. The output float is based on the input floats, so one skin with a slightly too high float can degrade your outcome from Factory New to Minimal Wear and make the trade up unprofitable. The calculation uses the float shown for each input, so stay at or below it.

Check the current price of each input too. The prices here are updated daily, but errors can occur, and popular trade ups sometimes push their input prices up quickly. Always keep in mind the 7-day trade hold: prices of your output skin can change during that time.

More on trade-ups and skins

Cheap and high risk trade ups

Not every trade up needs a big budget. Set the max budget to $1, $5 or $10 and see what’s profitable today. The profit per trade up is small, and Steam’s fee has a bigger impact on cheap trade ups, so don’t expect major gains. Build up your trade up budget step by step, like I did myself. I always try to have trade ups for every budget, but because of market fluctuations I can’t guarantee it.

If you want to gamble a bit more, you can set the profit chance to 25% or lower. The trade ups shown there lose money most of the time, but they have a few skins that win a lot compared to the investment. So once in a while you hit an expensive skin and the return is huge. Check the Return column: above 100% means profit on average, but only if you do it many times.

I have done approximately 200 trade ups myself and I always try to find trade ups with a good risk to win ratio. Keep in mind that if you do risky trade ups, you need a lot more budget to stay profitable.

Questions

Are CS2 trade-ups still profitable?

Yes, but most trade-ups lose money. That is why the trade-up list above is so useful for finding profitable trade ups. The profit margin is usually small, and it can change quite fast when many people do the same trade-up, so check the Steam market prices before you commit to a trade-up.

Do no-risk trade-ups really exist?

Yes, but there are not many and they usually don’t last long. Set “Profit chance” to 100% to see the ones that are no-risk right now. The input skins are often hard to find at the right float and price.

How often is the list updated?

Prices and trade-ups are recalculated every day. The date above the table shows the last update.
